  1. Satoshi Takahashi, “Mobile reception experiment of Quasi-Zenith Satellite Michibiki L1S signal,” IEICE Technical Report, SANE2024-53, Dec. 2024. (in Japanese) (The Quasi-Zenith Satellite System, Michibiki, broadcasts the L1C/A signal for positioning and the L1S signal for disaster information transmission and enhanced positioning accuracy. Both signals are transmitted at a frequency of 1575.42 MHz. The L1S signal, in particular, is designed for continuous reception. However, depending on the receiver’s surrounding environment, satellite signals may be obstructed by buildings, trees, or other obstacles. Nevertheless, since the L1S signal is broadcast with identical content from all Michibiki satellites, it is possible to achieve continuous reception by leveraging signals from multiple satellites in a complementary manner. In this report, the blocking characteristics of the L1S signal are experimentally evaluated by receiving satellite signals using a large GNSS antenna mounted on a vehicle while driving in an environment characterized by rough terrain and numerous obstacles such as trees.)
