IEICE MIKA 2024 (Okayama Japan)
I participated in the 2024 MIKA (Multiple Innovative Kenkyu-kai Association for wireless communications) conference, organized by the Communications Society of the Institute of Electronics, Information and Communication Engineers. It is customary to call it MIKA.
This MIKA conference was held for three days from October 28 to 30, 2024 at the Okayama Convention Center in Okayama City, Okayama Prefecture. This is a very convenient location, directly connected to JR Okayama Station.
By 1pm, when the conference started, many participants had gathered. On the other side of this photo was the partition for the poster session, where many posters were already on display.
The conference consisted of a special guest performance, a special performance, a tutorial lecture, a planning session, a poster session, and short corporate presentations.
In the special guest lectures, Dr. Yasuji Takatori of NTT gave a lecture titled “Challenges to create new value through wireless communication in the 6G/IOWN era.” In the special lecture, YouTuber Takumi Nobiyori gave a lecture titled “The joy of learning across fields,” in which he talked about the joy of learning across physics and mathematics.
In the tutorial lectures, Professor Akihiro Tamura of Doshisha University gave a lecture titled “Fundamentals and Applications of Large-Scale Language Models,” and Professor Masahiro Takeoka of Keio University gave a lecture titled “The Current State and Future of Quantum Information Communication.”
The planned session was titled “Wireless Communications Bringing Space Closer,” and experts in the field gave easy-to-understand explanations.
The poster session and short presentations from companies were also interesting.
During the three days of MIKA, coffee and local sweets from Okayama were provided every day. The first day’s sweets were kibi dango, the second day’s sweets were “Ote Manju”, and the third day’s sweets were “Chofu”. I was very grateful.
The social gathering was held at Okayama Castle.
Before the social gathering, we enjoyed the view of Okayama Castle’s castle tower at night.
The party featured delicious food and drinks.
The social gathering was a great success. I was able to meet some of the seniors who helped me out a lot when I was a university student, and I had a really good time.
